Today we say goodbye to Ceduna and drive a little further into the Eyre Peninsula to the town of Streaky Bay where we will stay for three nights. This is our last beach stop before we head inland on our way home in roughly two weeks. Leaving the caravan park we headed through town to the car wash, this time it was time to give the van a wash. After 40km to headed in to the little hamlet of Smoky Bay which would be a very quiet holiday spot for fishing and we drove through the town before continuing our journey.
We arrived at Streaky Bay and found our way to the Streaky Bay Islands Caravan Park which we had booked and we were given a beach site. Sadly the wind is with us again and it will be a quiet afternoon but this is our view.
In the late afternoon we decided to venture out and saw the little islands in front of us. They rise above the sea and the limestone matches this outcrop on the beach. A couple walked a dog for about ten minutes and we chatted to another Queenslander but otherwise there was just a lonely seagull.
Our host here told us you could walk to the island at low tide and we saw how this was possible about an hour later. Might be a fun thing to do in summer!!!!!
