Relaxing at Cotton Tree

8/11/19 – 12/11/19

After our quick trip to the auto electrician we headed off on the country roads through Wondai, Murgon and Goomeri before having a coffee break at Kilkivan. From there is was a quick trip to meet the highway at Gympie and continue south to the Maroochydore turn off and our caravan park at Cotton Tree. A few people had warned us that sites here would be cramped but maybe it was the time of year as we had a selection of sites for our stay. We chose this one and I think we will try to book it for future trips as well.

You are spoilt for choice with the beaches at Cotton Tree as the caravan park is bounded by both the surf beach at Maroochydore and the quieter beaches and swimming areas for families of the Maroochy River. The paddle boarders ride the waves in through the river mouth. This aerial photo shows the are in full view.

We used our four days here to simply relax after a very busy year. That meant beach walks, swimming in the surf for Glenn, reading for me and enjoying a couple of meals out with family who live locally. The markets were there on Sunday outside our door and we ventured to Mooloolaba one day for lunch.

I even found time to try some arty photos and the local birdlife.
