Travel Plans for 2020

Posted on

Well we are almost at the end of the first month of 2020 and time seems to have disappeared in a flash!!!

Life has changed for the two of us as we are now empty nesters and whilst Glenn retired in March 2017, I finished fulltime work at the start of November last year. After a six week break were we did a little travel and bought a townhouse that our son and his girlfriend rent from us, I have now returned to the office working mainly three days per week on projects and some training. This will continue until the end of August this year.

With my casual hours we will be able to fit in some short breaks and then a longer overseas holiday from mid October. So what’s on the agenda –

Short Breaks

Yes they mostly involve beaches, just what a short break in the warmer months should include.

At the end of February we will enjoy a four day weekend and a concert with friends at Rainbow Beach, about 3 hours north of Brisbane.

Then in March we will have 6 days at Maroochydore, some of it with my sister and sharing our brother’s birthday with family.

Our last beach stop will be to take our caravan holiday to Agnes Water that we postponed from the end of last year. That will cover about 12 days in May.

And finally in June for something different we are taking a long weekend at Yarrawonga on the Victoria/NSW border with friends we met on our Canada trip in 2017. We will fly to Melbourne and hire a car to meet up with them in a rented home for lots of laughs and catch up.

From mid October to the start of December we will be exploring Dubai old town as a stop over on our way to Spain and Portugal. Our return will see us in Dubai for 16 nights to enjoy all that World Expo will offer. We have everything booked now so stay tuned for some posts to come.

I’ve just realised that I’ve missing posting about the Bunya Mountains and our time at Cotton Tree, so I’ve got some catching up to do.
